Cash App Pay lets users make payments quickly in the Cash App

WP Easy Pay integrates Cash App Pay through Square, enabling a fast, QR-code–based checkout experience on supported devices.

This guide explains how to enable Cash App Pay from the admin settings and how it works on the front end.

Prerequisites

  • Square account
  • Cash App Pay enabled

Enable Payment Methods in Square

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings → Checkout / Payment Methods
  3. Enable the desired payment methods (Afterpay, Cash App Pay, Google Pay, etc.)

Enable Cash App Pay from the Admin Dashboard

Follow the steps below to activate Cash App Pay in WP Easy Pay:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to WP Easy Pay → Square Connect. After connecting Square successfully.
  1. Locate the Cash App option in the payment methods list.
  1. Locate the Cash App option in the list of payment methods and Check the Enable Cash App checkbox to activate the feature.
  1. Click Save Settings button to apply the settings.

Once saved, Cash App will be available on supported payment forms.

Note: Cash App must be enabled and approved in your Square account to work properly.

How Cash App Works on the Front End

After enabling Cash App Pay, customers can select it during checkout.

Customer Payment Flow

  1. Visit your website and open the page where the WP Easy Pay form is published.
  1. Enter the required form information and select the payment amount.
  1. Choose Cash App Pay as the payment method.
  1. Click the Cash App Pay button.

Cash App QR Code Checkout

  1. A popup window will appear displaying a QR code.
  1. Scan the QR code using the Cash App mobile app on your phone.
  2. Tap the link that appears after scanning the code. Permission required screen
  1. Review the transaction details and approve the payment. Transaction will proceed to the sandbox.
  1. Your Form will be submitted successfully.

Test Mode vs Live Mode Behavior

  • Test Mode (Sandbox):
    • The payment requires approval inside the Square Sandbox environment
    • The transaction appears in the Square Sandbox Dashboard
  • Live Mode:
    • The customer is redirected to the Cash App mobile application
    • The payment is processed as a real transaction
    • The transaction appears in the Square Live Dashboard

After Successful Payment

  • The payment status is displayed on the front end
  • Transaction details can be viewed in the Square Dashboard
  • Any configured success or redirect actions will be triggered automatically

Important Notes

  • Cash App Pay is primarily mobile-based
  • Availability depends on Square account eligibility and region
  • The Cash App must be installed on the customer’s device
