This guide explains how to enable Square Gift Cards in WP Easy Pay and how the payment flow works on the front end.

Enable Payment Methods in Square

1. Log in to your Square Dashboard
2. Go to Settings → Checkout / Payment Methods
3. Enable the desired payment methods (Afterpay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)

Enable Square Gift Card in WP Easy Pay

Follow the steps below to activate Square Gift Cards:

1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
2. Navigate to WP Easy Pay → Square Connect.
3. After connecting Square successfully, You’ll be redirected to the Square Payment Gateway Settings page.

4. Locate the Square Gift Card option in the payment methods list.

5. Check the Enable Square Gift Card checkbox.

6. Click Save Settings to apply the settings.

Once enabled, Square Gift Cards will be available as a payment option on supported forms.

How Square Gift Cards Work on the Front End

After enabling Square Gift Cards, customers can select them during checkout.

Customer Payment Flow

1. Visit your website and open the page where the WP Easy Pay form is published.

2. Enter the required form information and select the payment amount.

3. Choose Square Gift Card as the payment method.

4. Enter the Gift Card Code. Use the test card in sandbox mode.

5. Click the Pay with Gift Card button to complete the payment.

6. Once processed successfully, a confirmation message will be displayed and the transaction will be completed.

Test Mode vs Live Mode

• Live Mode:
  • Square Gift Cards function only in Live Mode
  • Real gift card balances are deducted from the customer’s card
• Test Mode:
  • Gift card functionality can be simulated using a test gift card code
  • Useful for validating form behavior before going live

Note: Square Gift Cards do not support partial payments. The gift card balance must cover the full transaction amount.
